Coy – I like the name of this lip crayon. Although the French translation on it of Timide is a bit more off-putting. Coy is coquettish and sweet, timid is frustratingly mousy. Having said that, I wouldn’t mind a range of lipsticks with unusually brutal names based on personality traits along the lines of Dulux’s Drab paint.

Selfish, Passive Aggresive, Bore, Pathological Liar….that kind of thing. Urban Decay’s territory, really.

Anyway, timid the packaging is not. It’s a kind of disco bronze, and it’s shiny copperiness attracted me when I would normally “shy” well away from anything called “lacquer” I love the mattes and semi-mattes as a rule and I loathe the gloopy, hair-sticking, smudging properties of lipgloss.

Luckily this has a rather subtle shine and no stickiness at all. A honeyed bronze shade, it’s a nude with a little bit of attitude, and is the kind of shade that goes with pretty much all my clothes. Actually, thinking about it Coy suits it rather well.
