“Spiced wine” is how Nars describe the colour of Golshan Satin Lip Pencil, which it makes it a very fitting shade for December, when I’m happily mulling wine all month long. By the way, those bottles of pre-mulled wine you can get now are a boon for a quick tipple when the baby’s finally gone to sleep and you haven’t got time for all the faffing. Lidl’s gluhwein is especially good, and in a beautifully Christmassy bottle too.
And while I’m on the subject, at a recent toy exhibition, Asda had a stand and were handing out mulled fruit juice, which was delicious. They told me it was half orange juice, half apple juice and mulled wine spices, which is dead easy. I made it at the weekend for when we were decorating the Christmas tree and the kids couldn’t drink it fast enough. So that’s another recipe for the Christmas repertoire.
Anyway. Golshan. This is one of my very favourite reds – Nars have produced a beautifully smooth formula, which lasts pretty well. And the colour is perfect for Autumn colouring – “spiced” is a perfect description for this soft but bold cinnamon red. The pencil makes it easy to draw on your lip line, which is particularly useful for red and darker shades. It’s a red which makes me feel grown up (which I know I should feel all the time by now, but still.)
